The topic that I have chosen to research is age-appropriate milestones and anomalies. This topic is relevant to adolescence and emerging adulthood development because if adolescents are not reaching their age-appropriate milestones, then they are risk for certain anomalies. It is important that parents and/or caretakers pay special attention to whether these milestones are being met or not, so appropriate intervention can be made.

The topic of age-appropriate milestones and anomalies is professionally interesting to me because my goals are to specialize my nursing skills to the NICU. The NICU and the PICU are wards in hospitals that are driven by milestones and anomalies. The NICU and PICU are also wards that can aide parents of these children to ensure their children meet milestones and have no anomalies. That is the most rewarding part of nursing in the NICU and the PICU.
