In this assignment, you will a compare, contrast, and evaluate new media to a time
before you were born. Remember new media by its definition has some form of
electronic communication.
1. Starting with your birthdate, go back at least 20 years. My birthday is
september 1st 2002
2. Compare and contrast media then versus now.
3. You should look at some of the advantages and disadvantages to both new
media communication and older communication
4. You need at least five sources for this assignment
One of your sources needs to be an interview with someone who was your age or older
on your birth year. (depending on your age they should be at least 40 years old.)
To start your interview off, here are some possible questions or ideas:
1. What technology did you typically use to communicate with friends when they
were 20? Friends close by and out of state?
2. Share examples of how they used this media or technology for
communicating,
3. Has your communication style changed over the last 30 years?
4. What do you perceive as the positives or negatives of my generation or
younger generations new media-based communication style.
5. What were major social media sites used in your day.
1. You should do your research before you interview them. So you have great
questions
2. You can present this information anyway you want using new media. Some
examples are computers, gaming, cell phones, social media, art, design, you
could create a you tube video, pod cast, Prezi presentation and so many
more.
3. You must have at least a one-page written summary of your information.
4. This assignment is two parts, one page written typed summary and part 2 is
presentation in the form of new media.
